Help the sleepover newbie

DSD is having her first group sleepover party at ours. The girls are 12. Do I try and enforce any kind of bedtime? Or maybe encourage them into PJs and teeth at a certain time...and if so what time? Help!

PJs and teeth. Sleeping bags. TV on. Then hide.

Pjs and teeth yes.

Then I’d leave them to it.

If they are making loads of noise and disturbing everyone else then I’d put my foot down but apart from that I’ve always let them be. Maybe they go to sleep at midnight, maybe 4am. But it’s a one off and as long as they keep the noise down I’m not bothered.

Deffo insist they are ready for bed at a certain time, and they should keep noise down. Beyond that...? I usually pop head in when I'm off to bed to check what's occurring. They won't be asleep

At 12 I would time it so that a film finishes about midnight, and make clear that midnight is lights out and they are to be quiet and go to sleep. You can't really enforce it but if they make a racket you read the riot act and tell them again it is lights out and they are to be quiet and go to sleep. Maybe they will, maybe they won't. But at my house they always did.
