Theme Park for short 10 year old

I have a very short 10 year old DS. He's about the height of an average 8 year old. He really wants to go to a theme park and I'm trying to work out which one is best for him. We've done Disney and he loves scary rides. We're Manchester based and don't mind travelling up to 2 hours. Does anyone have any recommendations please?

Have you measured his actual height? Because that will help a lot with knowing what rides he can go on.

There's loads of great rides at Alton towers if he's above 1.2m

Some chunky trainers could add some height if he is on the border of height limits

Blackpool pleasure beach would be my choice. lots of older style roller coasters plus some good themed rides. we have merlin passes, and would say chessington out of all of them, but from manchester i would do blackpool.

Paultons Park is brilliant for that age group but it's probably too far unless you make it a long weekend with Bournemouth Beach.

Missed 2 hr drive, sorry. What about Drayton Manor?

What height is he? 1.4m seems to be the magic number for the real 'thrill' rollercoasters.

Alton Towers does have some bigger rides for 1.2m (Wicker Man, Hex, Spinball, The Blade and Thirteen) but the main big rides are 1.4m.

Thanks. I really need to measure him. I think about 128cm. Definitely no where near the 140cm mark. Blackpool is probably a good shout. Smile
