How do I change babies name?

Hi, I have a almost 6 week old, called Violet. Me and her dad both feel we made the wrong decision calling her that as she just doesn't suit it. So my question is, is there an easier way to change her name then via deedpoll at his point?

Here is the info on how to do it:
www.tameside.gov.uk/Registrars/Changing-a-Child-s-Name-After-Registration
(It should be the same for all councils)

Yes there is an easier way. Just contact your Register Office and explain and they'll get the right form to you for you to complete. There will be a charge; £40 plus the cost of any new birth certificates. This works to change first or middle names but not surnames.

Sorry, cross posted

I'm not 100% sure on this but I think if they're under a year old. They'll just write out a new BC and discard the old one.
You're doing the right thing change it sooner rather than later.
I know of someone who changed their dds name when she was 8 mo. I don't how long to took her to get used to it.
Its one thing changing it when they're 6 weeks old but not at 8 mns you don't. They know their name by then.
