At what age is it acceptable to give a child tea?
My oldest is only 4 but just pondering when to start offering...

Neither of mine have interest in tea or coffee and they are 12 and 15

Did you read the 3 year old refusing to tidy till she'd had her cuppa thread? It was very funny. She has decaf with milk and no sugar.

Mum put tea is DD's sippy cup at 18 months (very milky), she's still a fan 20 years later

My two had decaf tea from probably around age 3/4. If we are busy doing something and they get bored/tired, they ask for a ‘tea break!’

The teapot was always on the go in our household when I was a kid, I drank it from a very early age. Co-op 99 was the brew of choice. We had tea & biscuits before mass on Sundays. I still love the stuff

I would wait until they ask for it, and then consider whether they are sensible enough to drink it safely. I certainly wouldn't offer it as such.

Growing up, we drank tea from an early age; we had our own little cups with cartoon characters on.

My ds had tea from about 2, but preferred other drinks for a few years. Back on tea now he's ten but our family have always been big tea drinkers, not letting the kettle cool down between pots Grin He doesn't drink fizzy drinks though, I'd prefer he had tea than that tbh
