Question about NMW if anyone can help please?

My dd has a part time job for which she is paid the NMW. She started the job when she was 17. She turned 18 in January. My question is: should her pay have been increased from her first working day after she turned 18? Her payslip wasn't any higher in January or February, her employers have only increased it in March. Is this correct or should we query it with them? Thanks.

It depends when the payroll cut off is and if she is paid in arrears. Also if she is paid at the start or end of the month and when her birthday fell in that time period. Best thing she can do is talk to payroll who will either explain or rectify their mistake.

In other words, yes it should have increased the next working day however when you see that reflected in payslips depends on how she is paid.
