Find me a holiday please...

I'm stuck finding a holiday.

I want something for the school summer holidays. 22nd July - 1st Sept. 1 or 2 weeks. Max £2200 including flights and accommodation.

Solo. Mid 30s woman.

I'd quite like something where I meet other people. Preferably adults only as I'm a teacher and it's nice to have a break!

Not overly active but wouldn't mind doing something random like canoeing with whales or swimming with sharks.

Not yoga, vegan, clubbing places or anything like that.

I love beautiful places, things to do, beaches, swimming pools, warm weather, animals...

Open to suggestions. Thank you.

You can learn to scuba dive in under a week in the Canaries or somewhere in the Med. I dived with turtles, rays, octupus and all sorts in Tenerife.

On that budget tho? The canaries is expensive to get to in the hols?

Perty01234 · 12/04/2019 17:47

Canaries is well within budget, I’ve had a quick look on TUI and plenty of adults only hotels that range from 900pp-2800pp!

Gorgeous places. Just depends where you want to go really?

Perty01234 · 12/04/2019 17:52

How about Sri Lanka?!

madeyemoodysmum · 13/04/2019 17:24

Oops I misread. I thought that budget price was a family of 4!

Have a look on intrepid travel website (I think 'the adventure people' is the British version of the company)

A lot of people travel solo but then are shown around/doing activities together as a group.
It sounds perfect to me as you have independence but company if you want it.

Lots of locations all over the world.

If you can hack the flight I would be tempted by something like this in Bali www.secretescapes.com/luxury-bali-escape-pool-villa-new-five-star-resort-ubud-purnama-beach-nusa-dua/sale-ihp?email=&dayExperiences=&checkin=&checkout=

Or something wild like this www.secretescapes.com/luxury-vietnam-trip-with-historic-sapa-halong-bay-cruise-and-a-scenic-train-journey-hanoi-sapa-halong-bay-hoi-an-and-ho-chi-minh-city/sale?email=&dayExperiences=&checkin=&checkout=

This solo one with intrepid looks great and I can’t reccommend Sri Lanka enough www.intrepidtravel.com/uk/sri-lanka/circle-sri-lanka-solo-travellers-119681

For a more relaxing break/something closer to home, what about Croatia? Absolutely gorgeous and loads to do

Costa Rica maybe. Its warm about 27C then though is rainy season but when we went all rain was 4pm onwards. We stayed in RUI Guanacaste at £6,300 for family of 4 all inclusive so £2,200 seems possible, other hotels were adults only. It was in rainforest and onsite we had 5 racoons, 1 coati, gecko and pelican wandering round and 50 metres down beach were monkeys. Beach and pool at hotel. Diamante is next door with 60mph zipline and animals. Hotel included kayaks, windsurfing, waiter service every night, SUP. Lots of trips available including seeing sloth, waterslide through jungle, hot spas, active volcanoes, ziplines, cloudforest, horseriding on beach or jungle.

Closer to home we are doing Norway flights v cheap with Ryanair and staying at a place on beach can kayak with seals and they get whales sometimes. Not far from Alesund and fjords. Or did Arola Bears in Finland, brown bears and canoeing there and beach at Oulu. Azores has dolphins but not been.

You can do moose, reindeer and musk ox safari in Norway and we are also doing beavers canoe trip enroute to Norway in Sweden.
