Speaker for white noise help

I feel intensely stupid but not being very tech minded... I want something through which I can play you tube videos overnight, for the white noise videos specifically, so it's only the sound I'm interested in. I use my phone but it gets red hot and means I have to have the phone in the room which is something I'd prefer to avoid.

Is there anything that would do this? I don't want an echo or dot but I don't think they'd work anyway would they?

I can't answer the first bit of your query but I do know that on our bedroom dot you can ask alexa to play white noise and it does. I think it's classed as a 'skill' and you can various sounds to play.

Also don’t know about YouTube, but we have this white noise maker with a few different options.

AVANTEK Sleep White Noise Machine, 20 Soothing Natural Sounds Therapy for Baby, ... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07F8PWXT4/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_i_yBgSCbN6QBPYV?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

There’s also white noise apps which might be less hot making?

We just got a cheap white noise machine from amazon.

Thanks whitehalleve, I have on which I use for fan sounds but it doesn't do rain unfortunately. Does yours do nature sounds?

An Echo dot would work - there are plenty of sleep sounds/white noise skills available for it.

Hmm, thanks all. Perhaps I will have to reconsider my Alexa aversion.
