Independent Article: Meghan having a home birth away from the cameras

Really good article in the Independent about Meghan having privacy post birth unlike when Kate was photographed hours after her birth

www.independent.co.uk/voices/meghan-markle-royal-baby-prince-harry-labour-birth-private-a8864726.html

Just days before the anticipated arrival of their child, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have confirmed that they intend to keep the details of the birth private. So far, royal photographers have not been invited to capture the first moments post-birth. In fact, the location of the forthcoming event has not been revealed at all.

Good for her!!

What a nasty snide article aimed at putting Kate down.

Each to their own, I say. Some women feel great and do all sorts of things in the hours/days post partum, some women don't. I certainly wasn't bleeding loads, unable to stand up. And I happily would have had someone come in and do my hair and makeup before I left the hospital. Equally, some people prefer privacy and to stay at home with just their immediate family. Neither is right or wrong.

Maybe Katherine genuinely felt fabulous, maybe she wasn't dripping blood, maybe she wanted to show the world her baby (and who wouldn't want to do that with a face of makeup and styled hair)? Maybe she didn't want to sneak out the back of the hospital. Maybe she simply felt she should do it and picked her battles? Maybe she compromised after discussion with her husband? Maybe she wanted to do more and William dissuaded her? Honestly, no one but them knows.

Plus, Katherine is in a very different position to Meghan, especially as William could well be a reigning monarch at some point and George being 3rd in line to the throne. Meghan and Harry are slightly removed from that, as is their baby.

I reckon Oprah has got the first interview with the Sussex's.

I was watching the review of today's papers on Sky news last night and they said most papers were unusually late going to print. I did think it might be because they had some insider info from a source, as they do, and were holding back for a big news story.

I wouldn't be surprised if Meghan had already had the baby, or is in labour.

Idontmeanto · 11/04/2019 12:33

I agree, hope the trend for privacy and quiet catches on!

Mississippilessly · 11/04/2019 12:37

I thought that was quite a nasty article actually

QuestionableMouse · 11/04/2019 12:39

Good for her.

PortiaCastis · 11/04/2019 12:43

Great good for her and hopefully the vultures will leave her alone.

Surely that was because of the late Brexit decision?

Flaxmeadow · 11/04/2019 13:45

Bingo
I think the Brexit decision had already been announced. I could be wrong though

Bloodybridget · 11/04/2019 13:49

It didn't suggest MM was having a home birth, though, did it?

NoSauce · 11/04/2019 14:59

I don’t blame her. After the way the media treats her I can understand her not wanting photos on the steps of the hospital.

idontknowwhattosay · 11/04/2019 15:30

I know that MM is always being trashed in the news, but why did they need to be so arseholey to KM?
The each to their own comments seem to only apply to the choices that they agree with from MM.

NoSauce · 11/04/2019 15:42

I agree, they didn’t need to mention Kate at all in any of this.
