The picture on the left claims to be what astigmatic vision is like while the picture on the right claims to be normal vision. Wtf? Surely the picture on the right is just slight fog? Doesn’t everyone see the lines?

I have astigmatism, so yes the picture on the left looking as looking straight on is what lights look like,

I definitely dont see lines. I've even actively been looking since I first saw the pictures, but no.

I see lines & I definitely don't have astigmatism & I've worn glasses for 38 years. The pic on the right is more like what I see without specs

I think some people are misunderstanding the OP. Obviously everyone sees the lines in the picture as posted. The question is whether that's how you see bright lights when you're driving.

To confuse the sample, neither dh nor I do see lines or halos from lights when we're driving. He has astigmatism and I don't. But his isn't severe enough to require glasses, so maybe that's why?

I don't think anyone is confusing the OP.

Everyone has answered the question as to whether they see lines themselves when it's dark and they are driving. As per the picture.

I had to Google astigmatism! I thought it was something else.

I have astigmatism and don't see lines like that. Without my glasses / contacts everything is just very blurry.

I don't have astigmatism. I see lines. Several other people without astigmatism have said the same. So it would appear that many people see lines. Both people with and without astigmatism.
