Hi I'm looking for anyone that's successfully done the couch to 5k and of similar fitness level and weight to me.

I'm 5ft 2 and hovering around 13st 8. I've always wanted to be able to put some trainers on and go for a jog but I'm so unfit! Like I can run for 45 seconds before I stop. My hip also hurts after too much exercise and I know it's down to my weight. I don't eat massive amounts, just the wrong things. I love walking.

Has anyone else got any success stories using one of the C25K apps?

Thank you Smile

me!!
how about 55 yrs old and wait for it ………...18 stone -size 20/22!

I did it but spent quite a long time on it so did each week a couple of times and now do 5km 2or 3 times a week and the occasional 10k,

also have lost about 4 stone in the process - loads more to go but the running has definitely helped , GO FOR IT!!!

Yes! Anyone can do it. I was an ex smoker, caring extra pounds and had never exercised at all.. Completed it 3 years ago and haven't stopped running! Love it..

I think you can, it is surprising how you progress from week to week. I was a similar weight to you (a little taller) when I started it and progressed through to the full 5k. Have a look at Parkrun and maybe rope in a friend to go along with you, some people run it in crazy times (not me...) , some people walk but at each of the locations I have done it I have found a really warm welcome and a sort of infectious enthusiasm which makes you want to go back for more.

Exactly me in height and weight and I am on week 7 of C25K. Ran 25 minutes non-stop today. Have done it twice before and built up to 11 miles last time but full time work then got in the way! Lost 3 stone dieting and exercising which went back on but feeling fit again is fantastic. Of course you can do it it's a fantastic programme

Thank you so much for replying! It's so encouraging to read all your achievements. We have just bought a cheap secondhand treadmill that we have put in the garage and I figure I'm going to build up my fitness for a few weeks before I start the app. I can walk for miles and miles but running has always been scary. Thank you for the link, I will pop on and have a look. Sorry I don't know how to tag people individually.
