I am guessing people may already know this, me I didn't have a clue but thought it was quite a good idea!

Travelling back from London this evening, train packed, when a young man sat in the seat next to me. He got his phone out and head phones and attached the phone which was in a case onto the back of the seat that was in front of him and the phone just stayed there. The magnetic bit on the case held the phone whilst man sat and watched something.
I waited for him to get off and tried mine and it worked too! Trouble is when I am out and about I never watch anything on my phone just listen to audible books.

I think I am easy pleased! Grin

There’s a magnet on the back of train seats?!

Ginkythefangedhellpigofdoom · 10/04/2019 22:52

So his phone just stayed there at eye level while he watched a movie?

He's quite obviously a witch.

Yep! The back of the seat was magnetic and it did stay put at eye level. (I had never given the back of a train seat much thought before this evening!)

What rail company??

LaLaLamp · 10/04/2019 23:37

I've got a magnetic phone case so it would stick to something metal but repel with one of those...mind you I never get a good enough signal on a train to watch anything anyway.

That backwards magnetic pull of the plates sewn into the seats as they try to attach themselves to anything sitting passengers have brought onboard is one of the reasons why are trains are sometimes late, honest.

almostdivorcedeek · 11/04/2019 00:49

Train company is South Eastern
