Like say someone who's not been very popular/always found it difficult to make friends, wouldn't get invited out - did you ever suddenly start becoming popular after your mid-20s? If so, what changes were beneficial?

Was anyone here living in a rented house share for many years continuously in their 20s and then suddenly found the "one" and moved in with them and lived happily ever after?

Would be nice to hear some positive stories :)

I would say I made lots of new friends in my mid-twenties. Mainly due to working in a new company with a lot of young people, many of whom were more confident than me and would go on nights out etc. Before that, having never gone to uni, I was working with older people I didn’t have much in common with.

I’m more popular with men now I’m in my fifties than when I was a young woman.

There seems to be an abundance of divorced men in my age bracket all looking to have a wife again.

No thanks! Grin

Mid 30s, after having my son, I suddenly became quite popular and have a lot more friends. The year off work on mat leave gave me the opportunity to meet friends that I would never normally have met.
3 years later and I still see most of them on a regular basis.

Also, my early 20s for meeting men. I’m not good looking (I’m a size 16, 5ft 2 woman, with an odd looking face) but somehow I managed to get lots of dates in my early 20s. Possibly as I was very smiley. Met my husband at that time, so the men have dried up lol

TFBundy,

Unfortunately a lot of men my age are divorced for a reason!
