Arum italicum

I have this too and dig it out each year but it keeps coming back! It has bright red berries later in the year on very upright stem. Always thought it was too appealing when children were young (and poisonous) so may want to bear in mind if you have little ones.

I think it's

Arum italicum

It looks fabulous! Why would you dig it out?

Theanxiousgardener · 10/04/2019 16:59

Also known as "Cuckoo Pint", Lords and Ladies" or "Dogs Cock". You'll see why - it matures into a very suggestive and sexy plant!
It is poisonous to dogs though I think, if they're stupid enough to eat it!

I just don’t like the look of it!! I don’t know why but mostly it’s the big red berries and used to have small children and 3 dogs and couldn’t guarantee one of them wouldn’t eat it!!

I've never seen the berries it doesn't seem to grow that much!
