What's the DM got on this guy?

So the Daily Mail ran two articles yesterday with lots of photos of a certain Scottish actor not David Tennant and his new "pal" and "room mate" as they kept calling him. And today they've shoehorned him into another article about dad bods and getting fit, although he's nor a dad nor ever been not-fit so it's seems like a ruse to repeat his name and that he's bi just moved to LA. Is there more to it or is it just the obvious?

DM is very good at publishing articles against people that have super injunctions. Not saying this is the case here obviously.

GarthFunkel · 10/04/2019 15:41

That's exactly what it seemed like when the friend of Paddington bear was getting into trouble. Is this a James Bond thing?

I agree, it certainly wasn't about the cigarettes he was purchasing or the people he bumped into.
Someone on twitter has posted pictures of these two wearing matching necklaces...

DisasterButton · 10/04/2019 15:51

Is this what you are asking Garth?

DK2704 · 10/04/2019 15:58

The daily mail also tends to write loads of positive articles about someone when there is a super injunction say for example with Ryan Giggs and his injunction, the mail kept running stories about what a great family man he was like every day. Longer way to fall when it comes out Grin

GarthFunkel · 10/04/2019 16:53

Well yes Disaster it certainly wasn't whether he'd recommend those particular cigarettes. And if it's in Wikipedia then it must be true Grin but why is the DM not just saying so, it's not like them to be coy about it - unless there's an injunction in which case everyone's a happily married family man who just happens to be doing something totally unremarkable in front of the paps.

Honestly, who cares?

AnyFucker · 10/04/2019 16:55

Who is it ?

GarthFunkel · 10/04/2019 17:45

I really don't care, it's not like I was in with a chance anyway Grin but I'm intrigued as to why the DM are doing the Hugh Bonneville thing over it.

He’s in the running for bond isn’t he? He’s probably trying to hide the fact that he’s gay or bi so it doesn’t ruin his chance ( because let’s face it there aren’t any big big action Hollywood actors who are openly gay that I can think of) and the dm have decided that they want to out him, but won’t openly do it in case he sues.

SimonJT · 10/04/2019 17:54

The daily mail is particularly homophobic ad takes joy in shaming queer people.

Knowivedonewrong · 10/04/2019 18:36

I know who you mean, live and let live I say if he's happy, then good luck to him.

GarthFunkel · 10/04/2019 21:55

Well now I'm singing the Wings Bond theme Know

Who??

IsHastingsWifeTheRealH · 10/04/2019 22:04

I think some newspapers get a kick out of almost saying what they know they can't say openly. A kind of "we know so watch it". E.g. Wills & Kate, Bodyguard, etc.

midsomermurderess · 10/04/2019 22:49

M Compston.

ThatDeadlyJetty · 10/04/2019 22:52

No, midsomer not him.

Yes, it's obvious what they're gating at, isn't it? 2019 and the daily mail is still the same old hate-peddling rag that it ever was. Only now it's online and reaches even more people.

ThatDeadlyJetty · 10/04/2019 22:53

Ffs. Getting at. That was genuinely a typo.

KitNCaboodle · 10/04/2019 23:00

Hastings, your example has gone right over my head.

Runkle · 11/04/2019 03:39

Disasterbutton posting a link to an article about who this is referring to up thread for those trying to guess.

Limpshade · 11/04/2019 03:56

Introducing the friend as the ex of another famous Brit seemed particularly pointed. We know what you're doing, DM, and it ain't cool.

GarthFunkel · 12/04/2019 13:44

And another one today pointing out how much he is "enjoying the Californian way of living." With a photo of him dressed as a lumberjack - possibly, it's quite difficult to tell.

OP posts:
GarthFunkel · 13/04/2019 08:22

and another one today - no mention of his special friend though. Has his PR got involved and are they insisting on some more positive/less fishing mention? How does it work?

GarthFunkl you have to be able to pay the press more than they predict they would make by publishing the story, if you’re as famous as him that’s a lot of money, if you’re not hugely famous it can be as little as a few grand.
