Where to shop for non-trad wedding dress?

Hello, we're having a low key wedding and I don't want a traditional wedding dress. I was thinking of looking in Debenhams but with them going into administration I'm unsure how long they'll be an option for. Where else can I shop for one? For reference, I am looking for this sort of style (though not these colours).

Monsoon?

BigFatBloomers · 10/04/2019 13:10

Do you want a cream/white dress but that sort of shape or do you want a coloured floral dress?

I'd have thought you could find either pretty much anywhere. How much do you want to spend?

This article gives a pretty good rundown of high street wedding ranges but they may be too traditional for you.

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 10/04/2019 13:13

I second Monsoon or Phase 8 maybe.

Or perhaps somewhere that does prom type stuff?

You should be able to get that dress online from Wallis, shouldn’t you?

BigFatBloomers · 10/04/2019 13:16

There's quite a range of things here at ASOS

John Lewis, House of Fraser would give you a good range. Phase Eight always has lots of occasion dresses

BigFatBloomers · 10/04/2019 13:19

This is nice if you wanted something a bit weddingy

BigFatBloomers · 10/04/2019 13:22

A selection of other Wallis dresses

Dowser · 10/04/2019 13:35

Got mine from Eliza j in the sale
£28 bargain
Was a beach wedding so I just wanted knee length

MafaldaGregorovitch · 10/04/2019 13:37

Thank you all

@BigFatBloomers I think I want a coloured floral dress. I had a Wallis one before, well I still have it. It's black and floraly. I love it but think the black background colour may be too dark for our wedding and I'd like something a bit lighter. I can't find it online at the minute and not at home to take a photo.

Slight side note, should my dress match in with the colour of DP's suit / tie?

Wow bargain @Dowser! Amazing :)

I love this one from Phase Eight

Whether you tone with your DP's suit is entirely up to you. If it's a really low key wedding, then I'd just go for whatever you want but I do think it looks nice in photos.

ScrumpyBetty · 10/04/2019 18:13

I got a lovely non trad wedding dress homemade, made to measure, on Etsy

RiddleyW · 10/04/2019 18:15

NotMyUsualTopBilling · 10/04/2019 18:33

I got mine from Tiger Milly, £35 for a 50's style prom dress and underskirt. White with black flowers, I absolutely loved it :)

moreismore · 10/04/2019 18:39

Coast usually have several choices in that shape

TwinsTrollsAndHunz · 10/04/2019 18:43

Is it just a shift dress you want? It’s a pretty basic shape. Everywhere sells them.

whitehalleve · 10/04/2019 18:57

Monsoon or coast would be my first ports of call.

Aozora13 · 10/04/2019 19:01

@gingajewel @RiddleyW my wedding dress was Vivienne of Holloway too! Not traditional white/ivory but I loved it (was a bit of a reluctant bride)

IrishMamaMia · 10/04/2019 19:08

Chi chi London?

gingajewel · 10/04/2019 19:21

If I ever get married (I have been with my partner 18 years) I would have a Vivienne of Holloway dress, I bet you ladies looked amazing!

isseywithcats · 10/04/2019 19:40

chi chi do some lovely dresses mainly knee length with circular or high low skirts and around £60 - £100 very affordable

MrsJakeLovell · 10/04/2019 19:47

Another vote for Vivien of Holloway! You could even get a matching shirt for DH2B!

RiddleyW · 10/04/2019 20:28

It was so fun! I did knee length polka dot dress with a little pill box hat and a big whooshy petticoat.
