Oh god are these sausages undercooked?

DH away for the night so promised my DC sausages and chips for tea as a treat (and for ease!). I don't normally cook sausages as not a massive fan but I cooked these (Waitrose free range) for higher than the temperature stated on packed because I had something separate for me in too and for the max length of time stated on pack (25mins)

They came out not looking brown and assumed that was just the colour. Chopped them up and served them for the DC and eldest flat out refused to eat them because they weren't brown. I quickly scooped them up but youngest had eaten theirs in that time. Now terrified that they're going to have food poisoning!!

What do you think of the colour of them? The skin came off when cutting up so it's mainly sausage meat in picture. They were cooked at 180 degrees for 25 mins

Have I massively cocked up by having two things in oven at once? (don't normally do this)

Don't be jealous of my culinary skills.

That plate of food looks horrendous doesn't it. Maybe I should put it on rate my plate

Meat looks cooked through inside but sausages need at least 220 to brown on the outside (or start them on the hob)

Looks unappealing but cooked!

They'll be fine I think

Thanks @LoisLittsLover so you'd say they were safe? Packet said 170degrees for 20-25 minutes

It is cooked. In the oven they don't really brown properly. They brown better under the grill.

Buombalayo · 09/04/2019 18:20

Thanks @PineapplePatty

I maybe won't instagram this particular dish Confused

They look completely fine, 25 mins at 180 is right they needed longer to brown but are cooked through.

Buombalayo · 09/04/2019 18:24

I'm such a sausage novice

They look cooked through but the skins are not crisped making them look unappetising and probably compromising on taste.

Chedfords · 09/04/2019 18:29

They’re cooked through, just not browned! Also, “sausage novice” made me really laugh. Bravo.

Buombalayo · 09/04/2019 18:34

Ah good. I'm glad my DC is not going to suffer due to my lack of sausage cooking skills.

I'm 38 years old!! And I can't cook fecking sausages!!

They're cooked. Sausages ways look rank when done in the oven. You're better off putting them on a grill if you want them crisp on the outside.

Hubblebubbletripletrouble · 09/04/2019 18:40

Definitely cooked, just not browned! Some stay a bit pink inside anyway.

MyDcAreMarvel · 09/04/2019 18:44

Best fried but not harmful.

PickAChew · 09/04/2019 18:48

They're an even color, which is the thing to look for.

I normally do those ones and similar sized for 30 minutes at 180 or higher, depending on the fan setting I use.

brodybear · 09/04/2019 18:49

Definitely cooked.
