Feeling miserable, depressed, stressed, exhausted pissed off, had enough.

Found a pack of liquorice allsorts at back of cupboard and devoured whole blooming lot without really thinking...

Just spotted best before date.... May 2015... how on earth have they even survived this long in the house. They have been hanging around waiting for one of those days but even so....

There's so much sugar in them, I really wouldn't worry. Very little harm can come from sweets past their best before. Bet the colour was faded a little though, right?

Lord help your bottom... I bet it'll be on fire later Grin.

That much liquorice would give me the ragibg squints.

Best before just means food is at its best before that date. It’s about quality not food safety. It’s use by dates on fresh perishable foods that you have to worry about.

I think you will be fine. ~They are sweets - preserved for years!

listsandbudgets · 09/04/2019 15:02

Yes I will book out the downstairs toilet for couple of hours later :)

Thinking about it the colours were if anything a bit brighter than usual rather than faded....

What amazed me most is that a pack of sweets has managed to survive for 4 years or more within my reach

The best before date is unlikely to be a problem but that amount of sugar and liquorice is probably going to mean you'll see a lot of your bathroom in the next few hours.

IncrediblySadToo · 09/04/2019 15:07

Nah, you’ll be fine. That’s not that old and it’s only BEST BEFORE, not use by. It just means they won’t be quite as nice...but clearly they weren’t too bad! 🤣

Depending on what size bag it was the quantity of sugar might upset your stomach if you’re not a regular sweet muncher. It would mine because I don’t really eat sweets 😇

Crisps, crackers, cheese etc...totally different story 🤪
