Low papp a and Edwards

14 weeks pregnant and just had results that baby has a 1 in 95 chance of Edwards syndrome and low papp a results. Now we wanted to wait until 20 weeks to decide what to do as we felt it was the rught thing to do but midwife is pushing for us to have cvs or the amniocentesis. I just wanted others experiences and opinions please. From a worried mama

With my first pregnancy my results came back as 1 in 4 - I forget exactly what for though as it was largely down to a high Nuchal fold measurement. We did opt for a cvs in the end, which was much less traumatic than I was expecting. Long story short, dd was absolutely fine.

I remember being torn about whether to do the cvs at the time, but I suppose it depends on how likely the results will change what you do next? Sending lots of hugs whatever you decide to do.

Could you not have the Harmony test or another NIPT? I thought they could test for Edwards.

If you were diagnosed with edwarda.

Sorry, pressed too soon.

If you did receive a diagnosis of Edward’s, do you have a sense of what decision you’d make? If you’re more likely to not continue with the pregnancy I think there is a big difference between how that feels at 14 weeks vs 20 weeks.

I’m also really sorry you’re going through this.

I had cvs as baby had thick nuchal fold. Straightforward procedure, results in a couple of days. Also had heart scan for baby and then all clear. Also got to know sex of baby v early so that was nice.
Whatever decision you make will be the right one.
