Its the holidays here and i'm stuck for ideas to keep my two occupied. I can get buses but not much within a suitable distance. They are happy to play in the garden but i feel guilty if they don't get out

We do the usual park, woods etc. We're going away easter weekend so trying to be careful with money

Ideas? Thanks

Check local museums and libraries as they often have free events for children over the holidays and are usually accesible by bus.

Have a cinema night - draw the curtains, get microwave popcorn and watch a DVD / Netflix / whatever you have

Find out if one of your local parks has a group hiding painted pebbles - children that age love the hunt for them usually you find, take a photo and rehide

Baking perhaps?

Salt dough was a favourite of DMs and she was permanently skint! Basic store cupboard ingredients, an oven and some paint is all that's needed www.bbcgoodfood.com/howto/guide/how-make-salt-dough-recipe

Go on a walk and collect foliage to make an Easter/Spring themed pictures/crafts.

Egg decorating (hard boiled or blow egg shells)

Go to a charity shop for books/games/jigsaws/material for crafts

Home Bargain/Poundland do cheap kits to make Easter bonnets if you have similar shops nearby.

Baking a cake or making cornflake nest cakes with mini eggs on top of them.
