Can I get a (wedding) witness? Monday 15/04 am. South Manchester.

The lovely denizens of the Wedding chat room suggested I might have more luck sourcing volunteer wedding witnesses on MN as opposed to my local Sainsbury's.

Please can you help?

OH and I are getting married next Monday morning, accompanied only by our children. The register office understandably don't supply witnesses so I'm wondering if there's anyone out there on MN who could help us out.

It's in Sale at 1030 on Monday 15th April. Please come along if you're free?!

@UtterlyDesperate The town hall is opposite Sale tram stop. Nearest overground line is Navigation Road which is 3 stops on the tram south of Sale.

@Flowersonthewall I think we'd be all wrapped up by 11am. We're aiming to arrive at 10am so I guess an hour in total (unless you join us for a drink afterwards).

Sorry - I meant the line from Manchester Victoria Grin. I am not great with the trams - I have been to Sale on one, though, and seem to think I got on outside the station. I fully accept it might not actually be called "the Victoria line" to anyone else, though Grin

(Trust me - if you think this is bad, don't ever ask me for directions Grin)

Hope you find your witnesses, Zampa. I was a witness for a MN wedding a couple of years ago - the other witness didn't turn up, and the bride and groom had to go out into the street and ask someone to come in!

Yes, you can get the tram from Victoria. It's the Altrincham line.

Hello! I've found two willing volunteers but if anyone fancies coming along anyway, you'd be very welcome!

(Possibly have to go and have the cat PTS afterwards so it's going to be an emotional day!)
