My toddler hates everything today

Anyone else?

I love him dearly but it's been winging and tantrums all day.

We've been out at granny's this afternoon with his 3year old cousins but he's still been a massive winge.

I cannot wait until bedtime

Just mine then!

Definitely not just yours. We were at my parents this weekend which is dd’s favourite place but omg. The whinging! The stubbornness! I was counting down to bedtime yesterday. She’s suddenly gone from being very sweet to hating everything and realising she doesn’t actually have to do what mummy says. I hope it gets easier.

Mine was like that after a nap. I offered him a cup of water and some mini smarties (he has cut his face and I feel sorry for him!) and he went into a rage.

I'm glad it's not just me, it's so frustrating.

Snap! Mine had a meltdown because I would not let him play in the garden lifting bricks left over from our renovation 🙄

Ha, toddler, wait until they get to 8!

Seriously, did a jigsaw with youngest ds (8) where it's three jigsaws that fit together to make a panoramic view (of Star Wars characters).

Where they fit together the edges aren't straight, they have notches and slots to join them. He hated that. The top and bottom of the end ones slope into the slightly shorter middle one so the outside corners are rounded as aren't at 180 degrees, he hated that. Had a tantrum and actually had real tears streaming down his face.

Thought we'd finished with all this when all four boys were through the toddler stage, but nooooooo. Five years later and he has a random, pretty big, tantrum.

Ds1 (18) has high functioning aspergers and ds4 shows some similar traits, so could explain why the fact things were different to the norm were hard to take, but he normally copes with these things fine. I am not going to show him a round jigsaw, will go and hide those in the loft.

Sounds like you borrowed my son for the day!

GregoryPeckingDuck · 08/04/2019 18:14

Me too. Your toddler and I are kindred spirits.

We've had one of those days and my idiot husband went off with the car seat in his car so we couldn't even escape (we live on the middle of a field)...

I don't know how anyone ever has another baby when they've had a toddler.

My dd has recently turned 4 and was in tears yesterday because I cut her toast into triangles and not squares.
