Do you let people come to your house when you sell stuff?

I've got some things I'm going to sell locally, but have no idea of the etiquette? Do I go to theirs, do they come here, do we meet half way? Some small and some big items. Ideas?

They collect but you can offer delivery if you want to.

Etiquette is the person buying collects (you would usually put 'Collection from XXXX on the advert). But as PP says, you can also offer to deliver (for a fee for petrol if further away or not) if you'd like.

They collect from my home but I don’t let them inside, I just keep whatever it is by the front door and hand them it. I have had people ask to view things before which is really weird, I’m not a shop!

They collect from mine. As pp said they dont come in.

Anything goes. It's usual for the buyer to collect, but they often ask for delivery and then get huffy when you want to charge them for postage/petrol, or tell them that it's not practical or cost effective to package up a £30 wardrobe for shipping to the other end of the country.

So you don't like let them 'view' it before buying? They only come if they've decided to buy it?

Generally collection for small items, but if its £££ I'm happy to deliver locally.

I've met people outside the Sainsburys local or in the park at the cafe, as long as its not a bulky item that's fine for me.
