Someone please give me courage to deal with massive spider

Just got home to a huge spider sat above the fan above the hob. I’ve gotten good at dealing not being afraid of the little spindly ones. This one has a massive thick body and long thick legs. No one home to be braver than I am and hoover it up. Please give me courage to deal with it before it disappears Blush

Please don't hoover it up. Can you put a bowl on top of it and then something underneath then put it outside?
I know it's easy for me to say (as I would just pick it up and put it outside) but it really isn't going to hurt you.

It’s almost on the ceiling and on the wall, it’s in too awkward a spot to do that. I hate hoovering them up but they honestly make me feel so ill to look at and be around Blush

I feel your pain.

The mistake I always make is to dither. Just do it right now and get it over with, then you will feel a million times better.

Dizzywizz · 08/04/2019 13:29

Don’t hoover it, they don’t die and will just crawl out!

chickenalapesh · 08/04/2019 13:33

DO IT. I didn't and now I do t know where it is!

Palominoo · 08/04/2019 13:40

Hairspray to stun it and then hoover. Put hoover outside for someone else to change the bag.

Stayawayfromitsmouth · 08/04/2019 13:42

Shall I send my 3 year old round? He likes spiders.
Please don't hairspray it. Poor thing.
Here's a grip too.

Therewere5inthebed · 08/04/2019 13:43

Please don’t hurt it. It won’t Help you this time but get a spider catcher with the bristles. They aren’t expensive and you can get the ones on the ceiling and put them outside. I’ve walked the length of my road to release a particularly big one in the past.

louisvootin · 08/04/2019 13:45

oh op i feel ur pain i hate being home alon with a spider jope u get it out

spiderlight · 08/04/2019 13:46

I second the bristle-type catchers. I can't use them (but my DH has become very adept with them.

Angeladelight · 08/04/2019 13:51

Noted about the spider catchers, as I said I really hate harming them but I’m just so terrified (irrationally but still!)
I’ve calmed down a bit now and it’s not as massive as I thought, will just leave it until someone comes home as it’s in too awkward a place to try and get it down! And don’t really like the thought of it coming back out the hoover.
