I have a key to let myself in as normal but the client had set their alarm.
I’m sat outside the house. I’ve tried to contact the customer but no reply.
Should I just leave ?

Have you tried to disarm it? I have done this, alarm was 4321!! As was another customer's!!

Stay for a few minutes - the alarm will probably alert them. If it's wireless they can switch it off remotely. DH has done that to our cleaner. I gave her the code after that!!

If you can't contact them I hope you will still get paid...

Sat in the car for 1/2 hour - will have to leave if I don’t hear v shortly

Has happened to me, but the alarm was turned off by a fob, I rooted through the drawers till I found the spare one!

Also, why must you leave shortly? Surely you were supposed to be there or x amount of hours to clean?

Has the alarm bell not switched itself off yet? By law they are only supposed to sound for 20 mins.

It's easily done by the way. Teenage DS once set ours without realising that DD's carers didn't know the code. They had taken DD out for a walk - DS was holed up in his room at the time. DS decided he would go and get himself a McD's for lunch, left the house and set the alarm on the way out. Carers returned in his absence, opened the door with the key and got the fright of their lives. Just as one of them was ringing me, DS drove back up the road and was able to turn it off. I gave them the code after that!

Got the code in the end. Ended up doing 1 & 1/4 instead of 2 hours as had another job to go to.
