Is sleep lag a thing?

DS has not been a great sleeper. Far from the worst but consistently woke once a night from the age of about 7 months (and multiple times before that). As a breastfed bottle refuser it was up to me to deal with all the wakings as he ended up in a screaming frantic mess if DH tried.

Finally, at nearly 2 ¾, someone has thrown a switch and he is suddenly sleeping through most nights and if he does stir a little will accept DH tucking him back to sleep. Praise the Universe! Hallelujah!

I coped better than I had thought I would with broken sleep. It would usually only take 15-20 mins to settle him again and I'm good at getting back into bed and going straight back to sleep.

But since he is been sleeping through I have been really struggling with tiredness during the day, just when I was hoping to feel more refreshed. My mum says that she experienced the same and that it took her a couple of months feeling knackered during the day when I started sleeping through before things eased and she felt refreshed from sleeping.

Is this a thing? Anyone else experience similar?

Not quite the same thing but when my caught got to 6 months and was only waking 2 a night and settling quickly I found myself more tired than the newborn stage!
