Dear members,
As a transsexual I understand where you come from regarding the onslaught of transgenderism, as women you need to preserve and protect yourselves and your spaces (and rightly so). But at the risk of provoking your anger, I feel I must say I am so sorry that some of you feel that transsexual people are no different to those hordes of cross-dressing men.
Transsexualism is a medically-diagnosed condition, it is cross-dressing that is a lifestyle choice. We are distressed by our natal bodies, while they are content with theirs and particularly their wardrobes of female clothing; fantasies that were once kept in the privacy of the bedroom are now being brazenly extended into the street with full protection by law from ridicule, deliberately and maliciously using the plight of transsexuals as an excuse.
Furthermore they are the ones, not us, who are pushing aggressively to invade your spaces.
Please believe me when I tell you we share absolutely nothing in common with transgender. Qualified physicians will tell you that a transsexual person is someone who has undergone major surgery and requires a lifetime of care while a self identified non medicated transgender person with a fully intact body of natal sex requires none (save for cosmetic procedures, which again is by choice).
Jenny Randles (on Twitter) and I worked hard to set up the petition calling for the inquiry into transgender activist intervention in the care of children at Tavistock to protect the thousands of vulnerable and confused youngsters coming daily through its doors. If transsexuals are removed from the equation, which a rising number on here seem to be advocating, then you are playing right into the transgender mob's hands - for they also want the concept of transsexual eliminated because they see it as restrictive of them and their bid for self ID.
The Labour Party too is also committed to this end as indicated in its manifesto.
Therefore by removing that specific diagnosis for transsexuals, care could be jeopardized putting lives in danger. Fine for those who love dressing up but catastrophic for those with actual sex based dysphoria because access to health care would be at risk since it does not apply to the transgender population.
And remember if there's only (officially) transgender people, with all NHS care withdrawn (and self ID will remove entirely all safeguards for the confused) even your own children, and those still to be, may suffer; those believing they're the opposite sex (as they are doing now) but no medical counselling to help them realize they're not, and others who are genuinely transsexual without course to treatment of any kind. Once again it will be the children who will pay the price.
So I plead with you all please don't abandon transsexuals. There are so few of us, and an even tinier number in a position to actively stand by your side. Jenny and I believe if we lose the support of women, all is lost. Hemmed in by two giant opposing sides we cannot continue. I understand your possible resentment at my post here and may desire to express it. But I wish to assure you we are on your side.
But at the end of the day, without transsexual voices trying to bring sense back and act as a bulwark to the narrative pushed by the transgender activists, the writing is on the wall for everybody.
All the very best,
Leanne Mills
