What type of floor is this?!

Daft question but I've only ever had wooden/laminate/carpeted floors before.

New house - kitchen and utility have floor tiles that I think are stone. First pic is of my kitchen floor, second is a very similar one I found online. What type of stone is this and how is the floor best maintained?

Are they limestone?

Not very good for falling over on as you can hit the floor hard.

I've just googled limestone tiles and yeah, they very well might be. Keep warning DS not to run about on kitchen floor as he would get such an awful bang (previous house had Lino in the kitchen so nowhere near as bad).

You need to be careful what cleaners you use, limestone can be damaged by acids.

If it’s limestone you’ll be able to buy cleaners and sealers online.

How would I know for sure @Fluffycloudland77 ?! I've been using a tile cleaner from Lakeland as we have other ceramic tiles elsewhere downstairs.

No idea, but if you treat it as limestone and it’s not you won’t damage it.

If you treat it as ceramic and it’s limestone you might notice some pitting.
