What can I do about anxiety pain?

Work is so awful I feel unwell. I have already decided to leave and I am actively looking, which is good. However, realistically, it might take me months to be able to leave, maybe even a year. In the meantime, I have pain in my chest and a constant lump in my throat, I am tense and I can't think straight; I have spent whole nights awake, with the horrible tension pain on my chest, and then I'm exhausted and useless the day after. I don't want to be off sick with stress because when I apply for a new job, my potential new employer will ask my current employer how many days off sick I have taken. My sickness record is very good.
How can I deal with this situation so that I can feel reasonably okay during the time I have no choice but to continue in this situation? Are there any supplements that might be helpful?

I would make an appointment to see your Gp so that they can assess your health and maybe prescribe something for your anxiety. There are lots of online counselling sites and also apps like headspace that can help. You could also maybe take a few days off just to get yourself together a bit more - perhaps tell your employer you have a sickness bug? I was in a similar situation in my last job and found applying for other jobs helped - however you also need to bear in mind that your new job may also make you anxious at first and you need a coping strategy for that. Good luck xx
