MP's should have no other business interests

Should MP's have other business interests? Say at the next election, all proposed MP's have zero financial stakes or appointments that relate to decisions they'll be involved in e.g arms, healthcare, construction etc. And that they maintain that position 5 years post elective role.

If MP's want to win back trust that is? Would this bring about a different type of politician?

I'd prefer that they weren't career politicians, and had done something other than be a local councillor before becoming an MP. I don't mean a non job like Cameron's, but something in law, HM Forces or business.

I prefer a politician who earns their money like the Attorney General; he had til he was appointed, a very lucrative living as a barrister.

As much as we whinge about MPs' salaries, I think they should be paid a whole lot more but strictly on the basis that they NO other work at all while they're in office and have to account for their time.
