I need some inspiration and I feel as though I've seen everything. I like dark thrillers and arty films. Last two films that I really enjoyed were the Alexander McQueen documentary and Under the Shadow which was a ghost story set in Iran!

I'd say Burning - the Korean film but have just checked and can't see it is available yet (May 2019 apparently)

Under the Shadow is v good

Have you watched Annihilation? thats good and on Netflix

Ballad of Buster Scruggs is good if you like Cohen brothers?

Not seen Roma but rave reviews...

'Get our ' is a very dark thriller that's now on Netflix . Watched it last night on Netflix and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time .

MusicToMyEars800 · 06/04/2019 20:25

A quiet place and bird box are good films not too dark either

myrtleWilson · 06/04/2019 20:25

Get Out is amazing - I've watched it about 3 times! Am hoping to go and see Us - Jordan's new film this week!

ElsaMars · 06/04/2019 20:25

I've just watched a BBC film called something like The ones downstairs, quite dark and interesting. I guessed a lot of it but I am bloody amazing at that 😂

Fazackerley · 06/04/2019 20:25

Prisoners is good, but not an easy one to watch.

myrtleWilson · 06/04/2019 20:28

Burning is brilliant, wierd but very good. Hmm I'll think on...

myrtleWilson · 06/04/2019 20:29

have you seen (probably yes) the original Let the Right Ones In?

myrtleWilson · 06/04/2019 20:32

But @Fazackerley we should set up a film thread! How about The HandMaiden (Korean)?

Fazackerley · 06/04/2019 20:57

myrtle we should! I have seen both of those Grin

If I can't think of anything dh is going to make me watch Overlord which looks awful Grin

myrtleWilson · 06/04/2019 21:13

ha! We're about to watch "sorry to bother you" .... Hope Overlord is defeated before showing!

Science9 · 06/04/2019 21:34

I'm going to watch Under the Shadow now that I've read this thread. Thanks, OP!

Fazackerley · 07/04/2019 08:09

Hope you enjoyed it science

Overlord was extremely gory nd silly.

Fazackerley · 07/04/2019 08:12

Haven't seen Sorry To Bother You but it looks like the kind of film I'd like. I watched Dave Makes a Maze a couple of weeks ago which is another little gem - deeply silly but fun.

m.imdb.com/title/tt2396589/

TanteRose · 07/04/2019 08:15

And Calibre also on Netflix
Very dark thriller set in Scotland
