About babysitters tonight?

Morgan12 · 06/04/2019 14:30

I have a party tonight that I 100% need to attend. Missing the party is not an option.

DS has been unwell. Temp was 39 last night. Is now 36.5 and he seems more his usual self but still sleepy, fussy and a bit clingy. He is 9 months.

Here are my options:

  1. GP's babysit at my house and I don't have a drink and leave party early.
  1. GP's babysit DS at their house as per original plan and I get a drink at party.

So, WWYD?

As usual I have done paragraphs and they don't work!

Option 2!

2nd option. How far is party? Could you jump in a cab if DS doesn’t settle with them or gets worse?

Option 1 for me. You wont be relaxed and enjoy the party if baby isnt settling at GPs. You can stay the minimum time and get home in time for a drink and a chat with GPs once youve checked baby is okay.

Option 1

1 for me. I wouldn't be able to relax and enjoy a drink.

he had a temperature yesterday, today he is well enough for you to be thinking about going to a party. go hard or stay home.

I'd do Option 1 to be on the safe side. I'd suggest calling the GP's after an hour to see how things are going. If all's well, you can stay longer and have one drink.

Totally sympathise with the situation, we went to a beach wedding when DD was a baby and I spent the entire day in the hotel room as DD had developed a temperature (they were actually DH's friends so I wanted him to enjoy the celebrations). She was fine in the end, but talk about timing!
