Clinging onto a piece of wood that’s drifting in a vast ocean because there’s nothing else out there’

We had a blazing row last night & now it feels he wants out.

Not nice for you to hear. What’s been going on?

JustDrained48 · 06/04/2019 12:07

We have temporary money issues which seem to be at the root of the problem.
His work is v sporadic but lucrative. His field of work does need him to put effort in getting contracts etc. He said he doesn’t want to spend money on travel etc because we need it for bills.
I asked him to be a guarantor on a loan to get us out of this immediate situation but he’s refused.
He was v spiteful last night saying my contribution (I’m currently a cleaner) is pathetic.
My contribution when his DCs come is nothing more than making dinner for them.

I just don’t know anymore I just feel like packing a bag and going. If it wasn’t for my cleaning clients & letting them down I probably would.

What he said was indeed spiteful. Time to think whether you want to be with him.

Stormy76 · 06/04/2019 12:16

Perhaps it’s time to call it a day, he will only get nastier and nastier.

FrogFairy · 06/04/2019 12:46

It sounds like he is being cruel to push you into being the one to end it so he avoids being the bad guy.

HellonHeels · 06/04/2019 12:47

He sounds nasty. Do not take out a loan in your name to pay off debts.

Whose name are the debts in?

Realitea · 06/04/2019 12:53

At least you generate money that is constant and reliable. If it's not enough, then maybe he should be doing more to make a wage that works instead of 'here and there'. How are you supposed to manage like that. Unless you budget for the dry spells.
Maybe he feels you could push yourself more so the pressure is off him but you both need to talk about what it is you feel you can both manage as I imagine you're the one that does everything for him and at home. A plan is needed that you both agree on.

JustDrained48 · 06/04/2019 13:07

@FrogFairy - that’s exactly what I said to him . It feels like he’s pushing me away.
The upcoming bills are in both our names.
I honestly can’t do any more hours than I am doing. This week I’ve been literally so unwell due to stress & tiredness I’ve been to the walk in clinic once & the doctors where I sat & cried because I felt so unwell then went & did 6 hours cleaning!
