I haven't worked for a few years due to small children, my older kids are 8 and 6 and at school, youngest is 18 months. Husband works away most of the week.
Have been offered a 2 day a week job in a new shop, selling very cool stuff. Would be a weekday and a weekend day, then probably 3 or 4 days in the summer.
I don't know what to do or how to do it. I haven't done retail in a long time, I had planned on going back into work this year or next but in line with what I used to do. And I can't get my head around childcare. If it isn't set days all the time how do I do it? My parents can help, 3 would be a big ask so would probably need to get youngest into a childminder or similar and they help with the older two...but how do you book a childminder when you don't know what days all the time?
Or do I say that I can't do Flexi days, or just hold out for something better paid/more reliable days?
