Has anyone else got a cat like mine that's a compete wuss & will withstand any amount of cuddling?

My big boy cat is a complete & utter wuss. He wedges himself into any sized gap between me & the laptop & proceeds to kneed away & suckle like a newborn… Hmm Then I'll find myself absent mindedly twiddling his ears... & he schooches in even closer! He loves it. He laps it up. I could 'scribble' him all over, in any direction & he just soaks it all in.

We play a game now where I pretend to stop stroking him & he taps at me until I continue again. He nuzzles his head in & out and all around my hands... and covers my laptop in fluff, sigh. Anyone else got a great soppy fluffball?

Both of ours live for cuddles and know of no such concept as 'no-go areas' like tummy or paws, like normal cats. And they leave masses of hair and puddles of drool all over us.

my youngest is the im going to squeeze on your lap and kiss you to bits while you are trying to use your computer, my half siamese pounces on my lap as son as i sit on the sofa, the other two are not cuddle buns

PutYourShirtOnMartin · 05/04/2019 22:14

My old puss loved her paws being squeezed... I would have to do each paw in turn and woe betide me missing a paw. She also demanded to be let lie on me...paws up in the air, belly on show.

My ginger tom is like this! I didn't realise it wasn't the case for all cats until my friend's mog took a swipe at me for too much stroking.

SpaceCadet4000 · 06/04/2019 00:16

I have 2 cuddlers. They can be quite hard to balance at times. I work from home and have been on many a business call with a cat cradled in one of my arms like a baby. If people could see me they would laugh.

EL8888 · 06/04/2019 00:22

1 of mine will have brief cuddles on her terms. The other is incredibly soppy and wants cuddles 24/7. Whether we are eating dinner or trying to sleep. I’m often trying to shovel my dinner in while she is balancing on my lap. Before we used the dining table more, she got frustrated about plates being on laps

Minkies11 · 06/04/2019 00:25

One of mine wants cuddles even when I'm sat on the loo Blush
And he tries to stop me leaving for work in the mornings.

YesQueen · 06/04/2019 00:41

Not a clue what you mean by cuddly WinkGrin
He won't eat unless he's had a cuddle. And when I'm dressed I have to sit on the bed and do morning cuddles. He washes my nose, clings on to me with his paws and sits over my shoulder like a baby
Not to mention I can stroke/brush any part of him and he just blinks lovingly at me

My oldest boy is exactly how you described I can’t even have a shower without him pawing the shower door crying. When he was a kitten and small enough to avoid the spray he used to get IN the shower with me

DontCallMeShitley · 06/04/2019 00:53

My little one was velcro cat. Always on my lap, in between me and the laptop, on top of me in bed or against me. I would carry her around the house, in my arms with her lying on her back, or in one arm as she was so small, she would also sit on my arm while I was preparing the dinner with the other one.

Currently have a much larger version, he has to sit on me every time I sit, and next to me if I have food or am sewing or using the laptop, at night he lies up against me so close that I end up on the edge of the bed and he is still right against me. He is too big and heavy to carry around for long and the one arm thing is OK as long as he is sitting up but he is sadly too big for walking about the house as an accessory.

Both had/have to be picked up and cuddled before being placed in front of their food.

My other one use to insist on being picked up and walked around the house, shown each room, and the view from the windows. He would also shout loudly at night at bedtime for a cuddle before he would settle. Used to think he wanted treats but it was the cuddle he was after.

Mine’s not a big cuddle, but if he’s been out in the rain, he cries till I dry him off with a towel; he cries for his milk at bedtime and by 11pm he’s mithering me to go to bed so he can snuggle up with me.
I luffs him 😍

YesQueen · 06/04/2019 01:00

Oh the towel! Mine will come in wailing and then happily be dried off purring away. Then he goes back out just to get wet to be towelled again Hmm

Love this thread! Your cat is gorgeous yesqueen I did not realise cats could be so affectionate!

frugalkitty · 06/04/2019 08:33

My youngest cat is like this, he's such a cuddlechops......he's my baby and all three kids have given up arguing over who's my favourite because they all know it's the cat I love him more than I love DH really

Minkies11 · 06/04/2019 17:20

@yesqueen - gazing up at you - lovely pic. Spy the cat box of doom in the background! Ours is banishe'd to the rafters in the garage otherwise they run away Grin

My TwatCats have decided they are not doing today. They've been curled up on the settee since 10am.

FluffyGrumpyTwatCat is generally next to somebody except when she wants some proper kip without any risk of TwatCat pestering her, when she'll either curl up on the other end of the settee or take herself off to a kitchen chair, under the bed or on top of the wardrobe for hours. TwatCat is pretty much my shadow when I'm at home.

TwatCat prefers normally to sleep downstairs and Guard the Premises at night, whereas I will go into the bedroom, close the curtains, turn the lamp on, get undressed, get into bed and plug my phone on to charge and, just as I begin to relax, FluffyGrumpyTwatCat will emerge from the darkness and spend ages insisting that she luvs me very very much and must be stroked constantly for hours. I normally get fed up after five minutes and try to pretend she isn't there, which is when she clambers onto my side, marches about on my ribs and occasionally settles down. Then DP comes in and she's all over him like a rash instead.

FluffyGrumpyTwatCat tends to get gently ejected from the bedroom after half an hour of harassing DP.

mimibunz · 06/04/2019 17:38

I have to ask for cuddles. If the answer is “No”’he will sit down; if it’s “yes” he will stand up.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 06/04/2019 17:48

My old boy was very very cuddly like yours OP. He would also ask to be picked up and then tuck himself right under my chin and stay there purring, dribbling and treadling.

My new boy - not so much. Loves a cuddle but VERY much on his terms. And god help me if I cuddle for slightly too long! He does love company though, likes to be in the same room.
