Can I share my amazing day with you all?

My DD has had a real tough time of it in the past year - work, college and major depression have taken a real toll on her and she’s had a very hard time, which has been hard to watch as a mum too.

This past few weeks she’s been a good bit better - today she had a fab day, shopping, makeover, cinema and lunch.

I am grinning with happiness.

For everyone whose young adults are in the throes of depression there is light at the end of the tunnel, and some genuinely good days to be had.

I know that pain so well, and the helplessness you feel as a parent when your child is suffering.

Flowers for your daughter, and for you.

Lovely news! All the best going forward, for your DD and for you.

Echobelly · 04/04/2019 22:08

Thank you for sharing, I'm sure you've made everyone who sees this feel a bit happier sharing your lovely day. All the best to both of you for a brighter time ahead. Flowers

Thank you for sharing, that's lovely to hear.
My DD has terrible anxiety and we've struggled with it the last few years with her going through university. She has wanted to give up numerous times.
Today was her final lecture Smile

BackforGood · 04/04/2019 22:28

Lovely yo hear. Thank you for taking time to post.

Aimily · 04/04/2019 22:33

This is brilliant to read! Thank you for sharing!

Willyoubuymeahouseofgold · 04/04/2019 22:35

oh how lovely for you both... in the last 12 months my daughter's anxiety has robbed her of her confidence , her academic grades, her job, her boyfriend and so much more. My heart breaks for her. So glad you had a great day - here's to many more xxx

MadameJosephine · 04/04/2019 22:43

So glad to hear your DD is doing well. It’s just horrific to witness emotional distress in your child and feel so unable to make it better.

My DS has to take a year off from uni due to his anxiety reaching crisis point, he went back in September and is doing really well, it’s such a huge relief

Flowers to you both

MadameJosephine · 04/04/2019 22:44

*had to take a year off

ssd · 04/04/2019 22:57

Am so glad to hear of so many of your kids having better days, am really hoping they continue.

StillMedusa · 04/04/2019 23:27

:) :) My DD1 has just come home from hospital after a stay to feed her and get on top of her horrible anxiety (anorexia , anxiety and adhd)

The hardest thing has not being able to just FIX life for her. So good days are the best!

Hoping your DD continues having happy days!!!

DownUdderer · 05/04/2019 04:18

The best news!

Decormad38 · 05/04/2019 04:28

After years of seeing my dd at low points it was lovely to go to Sainsburys with her yesterday- bought her a bag of groceries so she could cook a nice meal for her friends in their student house. She’s 19 now and I feel she’s shaking off her demons now.

WeaselKingHenry · 05/04/2019 10:59

Yep, she too has lost a whole period of life, so this is fab.

Flowers to everyone walking the same road
