Was going to fry it in spices. Is it one of those things that doesn't matter, or one of those things that'll kill you?

It’ll be fine

Sarahlou63 · 04/04/2019 18:27

It won't have become toxic overnight. Eat it.

Palominoo · 04/04/2019 18:29

I eat things well past their sell by or use by date and guage it by how the item looks and smells.

I've eaten paneer cheese a few weeks past the eat by date and am alive and kicking.

DuggeesWoggle · 04/04/2019 18:34

It's usually vacuum packed isn't it. Unlikely that anything could really get to it to go off. Wouldn't leave it months but it'll be fine this week.

Whatcha making with it ?

AuntMarch · 04/04/2019 18:35

Nope. It became incredibly toxic at 00:01

BertrandRussell · 04/04/2019 18:35

There aren’t any things that will kill you a day over date. It’s fine.

Janek · 04/04/2019 18:52

As long as it doesn't smell foisty it will taste and be fine. I ate foisty paneer in a curry house years ago, it was minging, but I live to tell the tale. Of course i would send it back nowadays, but i thought i had to lump it back then.

captainprincess · 04/04/2019 19:02

It will be fine. I know so many people that won't anything that is even one day over it's use by date. I want to know that they think happens at midnight on the day of expiry. Do they think the food can tell the date and thinks oh I must immediately become poisonous.
