If this happened to you, what would you do and how would you react?

I emailed a complaint to the nursery manager 2 days ago and I haven't even had a reply

What are you expecting to get from complaining?

Dommina · 04/04/2019 21:03

Poor key worker will now get dragged in to a 'chat' or a 'meeting' and potentially made to feel like shit about a harmless accident. What a, quite frankly, unkind thing to do.

ReallyReallyNo · 04/04/2019 21:05

It was an accident, don’t be a sick.

ReallyReallyNo · 04/04/2019 21:05

Haha dick!

multiplemum3 · 04/04/2019 21:08

So your kid wasn't injured or even have a mark? I'd probably laugh about it to be honest not asking for policies ffs.

Smoggle · 04/04/2019 21:25

Non event.
Child wasn't harmed.
You were informed at collection.

milliememum · 04/04/2019 21:30

As pp's have said, let it go, you where told about it and a form completed , job done, at my place of work an email complaint from a parent will trigger an investigation, not a nice situation for anyone!

S1naidSucks · 04/04/2019 21:31

When my oldest, @10yr old, was away with scouts, he fell off a horse, into nettles. The next day he stumbled near a wasps nest and got three stings. He told me all this, while getting off the coach, much to the horror of one of the helpers. My response. Blimey, at least you didn’t get bored. 😆 Yup, I’m evil. I’ve never seen such a look of relief from an adult in my life.

ThinkingAboutRL · 04/04/2019 21:34

I am not sure my husband would have even thought to mention it. A total non-incident. Hope your migraine gets better and you see this for what it is, something that didn't need to be mentioned again...

ENormaSnob · 04/04/2019 21:41

Get a grip.

sidesplittinglol · 04/04/2019 21:42

Ok I haven't taken it further and I just wanted to know what others would do in this situation.

Anyone would think I've posted in AIBU.

ReallyReallyNo · 04/04/2019 21:50

It’s because you’re being utterly ridiculous about it.

Generationrenter · 04/04/2019 21:55

.

DD's keyworker accidentally threw a shoe at DD's head
dorothydolittle · 04/04/2019 21:56

Ffb?

dorothydolittle · 04/04/2019 21:57

Pfb even !!

DonnaDarko · 04/04/2019 21:59

My son came from nursery with a scratch on his face. The nursery staff had noticed but didn't know when it happened so there's no accident form. He's in perfectly good spirits and as happy as ever.

But maybe Im being too relaxed and I should complain about it now Grin

GoGoGadgetGin · 04/04/2019 22:01

Come on.. can't believe no-one else has suggested log it with 101 yet! Or that you call 111 for head CT... Grin
What a non -event!!!

Shocksandboooos · 04/04/2019 22:18

God. Poor woman. I would shave laughted when told and probably told her an anecdote about one of the many times that I accidentally cought Ds.
Maybe I am just a lax parent. He’s pfb too so any more children that we have are stuffed.

ballsdeep · 04/04/2019 22:26

Honestly, please think before you jump to complain about people in jobs. This was an abolsute non event, and the hysterical people at the top of the thread who said its assault also need to get a grip. As a pp said, this could have caused an investigation where staff were suspended over something so silly.
Give your head a wobble

HotpotLawyer · 05/04/2019 01:38

Well, you have taken it further by e mailing a complaint. Confused And asking to see gheirbpolicy etc etc.

amusedbush · 05/04/2019 08:13

Unless it was an adult sized steel toe cap boot I really can't see the issue. I'm sure the poor person didn't shot put the shoe across the room, it was probably a gentle throw and you said yourself there wasn't a mark on your DD.

I really can't imagine anyone "taking it further" in this case.

bombaychef · 05/04/2019 08:19

It's now wonder people are it off these types of jobs in case some one complains about them. My kids have had countless mishaps over the years. Staff member sounds lovely mentioning it; to then be reported and get a black mark on her record

insancerre · 05/04/2019 11:50

I once took a toddler out by accidentally kicking a football at them
I did tell the parents and they laughed

SilverySurfer · 05/04/2019 12:31

The clue is in the word 'accident'. It wasn't intentional, the shoe wasn't thrown at your child, who has neither an injury or mark. Move on.
