What’s the minimum you could budget?

For the next 2 weeks, 1 adult two DC. All the bills are paid but I need to save for bills coming up in the next few months! I have 890 in my account but want to transfer some (a lot) over to savings and not have to touch it. My next pay day is in two weeks so I’ll need enough for 2 weeks? What should I budget for food, school lunches, and a few incidentals?? TIA

It depends on how much food you already have in your freezer and cupboards.

I'd transfer £600 to savings now and see how well I can do with the £290. Maybe you'll be able to transfer a bit more to savings at the end of the fortnight, if you're frugal.

£40 a week for food £20 a week for any extras.

Depends if there are Easter holidays entertainment or clubs to factor in?

I could do £60/ week for food including packed lunches. Plus over that time mine have two birthday parties (£10 each to factor in), an end of term catch up at soft play (£20) and a go at the climbing wall (£20) if I add in some dinners say £15. Round up to £250 as I know there's some clubs to pay for for next term.

£300 for two weeks I reckon.

The little bits and pieces really add up to be honest.

Thanks ladies so I transferred 500 and thought I’d aim to live on 390 as I have a few celebrations to account for too. I reckon that’ll cover it. Whatever is left the night before pay day I will transfer over too!!
