Can anyone the name of this 90s shop? They used to sell giftware, think pens with a floral pattern, patterned notebooks, jewellery, clocks, scarves...can't really remember much else to be honest, but it popped into my head as one of those shops I'd go into on a Saturday and browse when I was first allowed to go into town on the bus by myself 😂

I have some Christmas decs from about 20 years ago from there. A sort of bunting of Father Christmas (Victorian’s)

Oh my goodness I adored Past Times and still have all the jewellery from there (I had a lot).

Think the chain collapsed in 2007/8 as I was living in Barnet and they had a massive closing down sale and I cleared the place out.

I loved Past Times too, I have a lovely glass Union Jack Christmas tree bauble from there that comes out every year.

StephsCaddy · 04/04/2019 20:52

I used to live past Times. Still have some amber and silver jewellery from there.

MyKingdomforaNameChange · 04/04/2019 20:57

I have a musical carousel from Past Times which must be 25 years old!

EsmesRedPetticoat · 04/04/2019 20:58

I used to live Past Times. I have a few books I got from there and a wax seal with my initial on. I never use it (what would I use it for?) but I’m sure as hell not getting rid of it!

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 04/04/2019 21:00

I loved Past Times when they first started and did stuff from different periods of time. They got very twee and chintzy later on.
I do have the cat head Christmas ornaments, an art noveau style vase and some Amber jewellry my mum bought me.

Girlinstripedpyjamas · 04/04/2019 21:04

I’ve got an amethyst ring I still wear! Used to love browsing but never bought s lot. Probably why it closed!

DilysMoon · 04/04/2019 21:10

I loved Past Times I had a thing for their flowing white Victorian style cotton nighties. I got rid of them all years ago but wish I has kept them now..

FrenchyQ · 04/04/2019 21:15

I used to pack soaps that were sold in past times (think they were Henry the 8th)

ShowOfHands · 04/04/2019 21:19

I have jewellery from there as well as an Art Deco style vase and several snow globes.

PatrickMerricksGoshawk · 04/04/2019 21:22

@DilysMoon the nighties, I longed for those!

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 04/04/2019 21:25

Tax returns @EsmesRedPetticoat

The HMRC love a bit of wax, preferably delivered by owl

I bought a little tooth fairy box for my dd when she lost her first tooth. All her teeth and her sisters have been collected by the tooth fairy from it. It was a fairy on a swing, really cute. I also have some jewellery from there and some Christmas decorations.

If you liked the jewellery at PT then have a look at the V&A’s online shop. They have some lovely bits.

ThisCoolBean · 04/04/2019 21:36

I have a rather lovely ornate letter opener from Past Times. I still use it when I want to feel all fancy opening my correspondence (aka bills and credit card offers)

DippyAvocado · 04/04/2019 21:41

Dd1 still has the nightlight from Past Times that my late grandmother bought for her. It's in the style of a little vintage lamp that you plug into a socket. I've scoured everywhere looking for a similar one for DD2 buy haven't found anything as good. It's 10 years old now and still going strong.

catinboots99 · 04/04/2019 22:16

They sold paisley oilcloth shopping bags and Celtic jewellery. Was the standard port of call for Xmas shopping for both my DNan and my DM
