Does anyone know what the spots are on my son?

7 years old, these spots are under his arms and backs of his knees. They have heads.

He said they "have been there for aaaaaaaaaaages Mum."

But they look weird and seem out of place.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Molloscum contagiosum

CatsForLife · 04/04/2019 07:22

Looks like molloscum. They take ages to go!

They look like molluscum contagiousum. They are supposed to go away of their own accord but take months.
My daughter had them and we used molludab on them.
They are highly contagious so be careful with sharing towels etc.

Thanks, just googled and you're all spot on.

I have a baby. Is there a risk to him? You know how the cold sore virus is an awful risk?

As far as I'm aware they aren't dangerous for a baby. My eldest had them when my Ds2 was born and actually didn't catch them. Our GP was aware that DS1 had them but didn't say anything about the baby catching them.

The dreaded molluscum. I hate the things.

It’s taken over a yer for my DS’s to go.

We tried mollutint, molludab, thuja tablets, lemon myrtle, tea tree oil...you get the picture. Nothing worked.

They only went when they caused eczema around the spots and we were prescribed daktacort although I’m sure that wasn’t related and just coincidence!

Funnily enough he was just saying it's made his eczema worse!

My son had this really badly- some of them were huge, but they did go after 3 months or so 🤞
