We had 3 years between and it is hard work. One can do loads of fun stuff and the other can’t. One person is always on the sideline with the youngest because there isn’t much suitable for both ages- particularly when the weather is poor.

5 yrs between mine, in many ways it has been fantastic. No jealousy, eldest settled in school when youngest arrived, able to spend end time with baby in the day without neglecting eldest, eldest sleeping well at night so only sorting out baby. They are 15 and 10 now and where they were once very close, they are naturally drifting apart as the teenager is getting more independent. But I think they'll always have a close bond. It is hard to find things they both want to do but often I just take youngest and leave eldest to his own devices, suits them both.

11 years between mine - it works really well for us.
