Ok don't laugh...

...but my 'no-thigh gap' thighs have worn a hole in my jeans! Gone right through the crotch area! I have inbuilt ventilation now! I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Grin

I'm gutted actually, they were my favourites. I had them for a few great years (sob) and I'd spent those said years fading them nicely from inky black to a soft charcoal. Argh!

I have actually considered patching the hole so I can continue wearing them that's how much I love them (sad I am) or maybe even wearing coloured hot pants under them as some weird fashion statement, "look at me, my groin munches through denim but look, funky pants though!" Blush

Also I could have been wearing them a couple days without knowing and flashing my bits because, well, who washes them after each wear? Definitely not Mr. Levi's!

Tell me I'm not the only one, please! ConfusedGrinBlush

R.I.P lovely snuggly jeans.

Mine did the same yesterday, similarly gutted!!

mynameisMrG · 03/04/2019 18:29

I’ve also had this happen. I sewed them up, they didn’t last long. Was gutted 😕

Tomtontom · 03/04/2019 18:30

Used to happen when I was bigger. You can still wear them around the house (with pride!), and use it as an opportunity to treat yourself to a new pair.

(I have multiples of the same jeans, always helpful in these situations!)

Yep mine always go at the crotch. I blame leg crossing.

Angie169 · 03/04/2019 18:31

Oh I have done this with so many pairs of jeans that I am tempted to put a patch on them when I buy a new pair so that my clod hopping walk tip toeing like a gazzel walk wears out the patch instead of the jeans so I can replace the patch everyone and then

Thisisthelaststraw · 03/04/2019 18:31

Same happened to me a couple of years ago. Looked like a man with his balls hanging out when I sat down BlushGrin

There are videos on YouTube showing how to repair them but unless you’re a crafty type I think it’s rip your jeans 😭

EL8888 · 03/04/2019 18:32

Gutted! My jeans always die there as well. RIP

AppleJuiceFlood · 03/04/2019 18:33

Ah the curse of the chub rub. I have lost many pairs of jeans to it.

You’re not alone. Flowers 🤣

ThePollutedShadesOfPemberley · 03/04/2019 18:35

Gusset transplant needed. I have done this a few times on my trusty old Singer. Only for jeans worn around the house though Blush

Happyhusband · 03/04/2019 18:41

Helps deaf people lip read though!

ErrmWTAF · 03/04/2019 18:50

Doncha all mean you're gussetted? Grin

DerbyRacer · 03/04/2019 18:57

It happened to me a couple of years ago. Was very embarrassed to think I might have be walking about like that for a few days. I don't wear skinny jeans any more so hopefully it won't happen again. But I always check now before I put them on.

origamiunicorn · 03/04/2019 19:13

Ahhh I'm glad I'm not alone!🤣🙈 Honestly could have been walking around with them like that for days! I wore them to work as well! I am a leg crosser too so I'll stick with that as the reason! Might have a look at YouTube on how to fix and keep them as house/gardening jeans ☺️

Gusset transplant needed

I read that first like my 'gusset' needs transplanting not the jeans 🙈😊

This happens to my dd, but it's never happened to me.
Please don't think it's a fat or woman's problem my dd is only 15.
I know when I sort out her clothes i'll find several.

origamiunicorn · 03/04/2019 20:08

Ah thanks @RomanyQueen1Smile I am definitely not fat, just thick of thigh ... and a leg crosser as well, which is obviously the main reason 😁☺️

You cut the entire gusset out of another pair and stitch it in lining up the seams all lovely and that. Put a few other random patches on elsewhere so it doesn't look so weird. It feels like you have a big ol sanitary towel in place the first few times but you get used to it after a while. Grin

MadSweeney · 03/04/2019 21:51

I agree this isn't a fat problem it's a 'quality of denim' problem.

Size 6 dd's jeans always go there, always primark ones but never the dorothy perkins ones.

marvellousnightforamooncup · 03/04/2019 22:08

Isn't this a normal thing to happen?

When I were a lass, denim was thicker and less stretchy. It took ages to wear jeans in and jeans never came pre-ripped where I came from. My brothers and I, with help from DGM always patched them at the crotch so we could benefit from the cool ripped knee look with modesty intact.

Gertie75 · 03/04/2019 22:18

Mine always wear through at the top of my thighs too along the seams where my thighs rub, I've gone through £10 supermarket ones and £50 Next ones.

GreenDragon75 · 04/04/2019 00:15

This happens to me too. I have skinny legs so definitely not a size thing and buy Next jeans which seem to be good quality thick denim. I still wear my favourites for dog walking with a long top. Not completely gone through but very thin material in the groin and knee area.

Sammiches101 · 04/04/2019 16:36

So glad i'm not alone, my favourite comfy jeans are going this way, i'm disappointed that they are betraying me Sad

mbosnz · 04/04/2019 16:47

Me too! Mine always go there too - and I'm not huge - size 4-6 in jeans. . . (American sizing). I just assumed I had a very acidic crotch. . . Grin
