I'm eating chocolate everyday!

It used to be a weekend treat only but since giving birth 2 months ago I've eaten it everyday.

I feel guilty!!!

OP posts:
Weebitawks · 03/04/2019 17:25

Why ?

meepmoop · 03/04/2019 17:29

Eat away! I'm currently pregnant and have never eaten as much rubbish as I am at the moment

Whatsnewpussyhat · 03/04/2019 17:30

Why the guilt?

MrsMoastyToasty · 03/04/2019 17:33

Good quality chocolate is high in iron and antioxidants. Keep munching!

dramaqueen · 03/04/2019 17:50

2 squares of dark chocolate here after dinner every day. I look forward to it all day.

cafesociety · 03/04/2019 19:10

I've eaten some chocolate every day of my life although I ration it to small amounts. I've no diabetes or any other problems despite being old enough to have a grandson of 20.

Life's to enjoy...everything in moderation.

DailyMailSucksWails · 03/04/2019 19:11

That's a shame. Could be chockie at every meal, you know. Go on. You know you want to.

onegrapeshortofabunch · 03/04/2019 19:13

I eat chocolate every day. I love it! I’m slim and healthy.

onegrapeshortofabunch · 03/04/2019 19:13

Gonna have some now, thanks for reminding me!

Greenlegobox · 03/04/2019 19:15

Instead of losing weight when I had the baby, I put more on. I think it's a combination of tiredness and boredom. I was constantly at sweet things.

RosaWaiting · 03/04/2019 19:15

what do you mean by chocolate?

tbh I have no judgement either way, I'm just amazed when people define it as "2 small squares of 80%" etc.

DuggeesWoggle · 03/04/2019 19:18

If you can't cut yourself some slack when you've just given birth when can you? If ever there is a time in a woman's life when she needs the quick energy and comforting taste of chocolate then the first gruelling months of motherhood are surely that time. You are probably using more calories than you realise anyway, being up half the night. Especially if you are breastfeeding, that can burn up to 500 extra calories a day - chomp away!

Sinead100 · 03/04/2019 19:19

Eat the chocolate and enjoy it!

Stillmonday · 03/04/2019 19:36

Thanks everyone - you are right, I deserve it ;)

I eat quite a bit of chocolate every day and always have done. I think a lot of people do.

Jamhandprints · 03/04/2019 19:51

I do, anything from 2 squares of 70% dark chocolate to ...a whole bar of Aldi nutty milk chocolate. It makes me happy.

Greenlegobox · 03/04/2019 22:12

I'm currently eating nutella from the jar with a spoon while watching old episodes of Bake Off on Netflix. I can't judge.

StylishDuck · 03/04/2019 22:23

I've found my people! My current favourite is Aldi's choceur. You can buy packs of small bars and they're lovely. No palm oil either. Eating a little bit of chocolate every day is my vice. I don't smoke, I'm not a heavy drinker, I'm not overweight. Where's the harm? Enjoy it OP and don't feel guilty. There are lots of worse things you could be doing!

lozengeoflove · 03/04/2019 22:26

It’s been three days since I’ve had chocolate and now it’s all I can think about. This thread should come with a warning Grin

AdaColeman · 03/04/2019 22:33

Chocolate is made from a plant so it's one of your five a day.

Life is too short to feel guilty about eating something that you enjoy. ( I'm sure Maya Angelou or Saint Augustine must have said something similar! Wink )
