Please tell me how to feel better!

Just after Christmas we took in a friend’s cat on a temporary basis (she was between houses) and although we love cats, this one seemed to set off asthma which I haven’t had for about 15 years. The cat went to back to my friend after about 6 weeks but my chest hasn’t been the same since. I’ve got a permanent wheeze and I also got a rotten cold which settled on my chest so I’ve been taking “cold and flu” capsules. They help but they also dry my mouth out to the point that I wake up. If I lie flat, I wake up coughing.

I’ve been to my GP, and he did a CRP and it was 9, so he said it was viral and to soldier in, and gave me a blue inhaler.

That was 2 weeks ago, and I’m knackered, occasionally coughing up white phlegm and the only sleep I get is propped up on the armchair.

I feel like I’m running at about 50% capacity, and just feel so old somehow.

Please help!

I'd go back to the GP- if you're having asthma symptoms you should be on a preventer (steroid) inhaler as well as the blue inhaler.
