Can you plait your own hair?

I can do some great stuff too DD but I can’t do it to myself. Doesn’t heal that my hair is super thick but has a side parting.
The main problem is as I cannot see what I am doing. I get confused quickly about which bit goes next!
Is there a trick to this?

Yes I can do a normal plait fairly easily but never got the hang of a French plant Confused

Two is also way easier than one.

Try with two until you get the hang

I can do French braid and normal plait. The trick is not to think about it. If I think about it I mess it up. And of course working out how to do ithis in the first place. Just takes practice.

I can do it better on myself (no mirror) than on others. I think it's because I pull it tighter on myself because I don't whinge!

Yes if I don’t look in a mirror.

I can plait but not French plait my own hair and i'm really frustrated by my inability to do it. I do have very long hair though and I always feel like I need a third hand to separate the hair, if that makes sense.

Yes. The trick is to do it with your eyes shut & to maintain an even tension.

I have to do an 'elsa' plait (as my child calls it) when doing my own. I can't coordinate my arms behind me!
