Anyone from Preston area? Traffic question

I have to pick up someone from Preston station on Saturday lunchtime en route to an event. I don't know the area at all, will the traffic be OK? Asking as where I live traffic to the town centre is awful on Saturdays.

I would come off M6 junction 32 then down the B6241 which is the sort of back route into town but TBH unless there's a giant event on the traffic isn't usually awful
