National Autism Week - Morrisons Quiet Hour Every day 1-7 April / 9am to 10am (Quiet Hour ongoing every Saturday) @ Morrisons

As part of National autism week, every day between 9am to 10am, Morrisons are making all their stores a calmer and quieter environment, designed to help customers who currently struggle with music and the other noise associated with supermarket shopping. As a reminder they have an ongoing quiet hour every Saturday, which they have been running since last year.

During Quieter Hours, Morrisons stores will:

Dim the lights
Turn music and radio off
Avoid making tannoy announcements
Reduce movement of trolleys and baskets
Turn checkout beeps and other electrical noises down
Place a poster outside to tell customers it’s Quieter Hour.

Bump!

Our local shopping centre has "autism hour" on the first Sunday of every month with lights turned down, etc. Great idea but the amount of people I overheard bitching and moaning about it being "too dark" and "boring with no music" was unreal, I had to bite my tongue not to say anything.

I wish they did this at other times of the day. Nice idea, but 9am-10am on a weekend is just lip service really.
