No longer claiming tax credits but need to pay overpayment back?

I’m currently paying back money for an income support overpayment from many years ago, it comes out my tax credits.

I’m thinking about moving in with my partner but with his wage we won’t be entitled to tax credits. I’m now worrying about paying this money back and it using the “household income” to get it back. I will still have child benefit and dp will be helping until I get a job.
Will they let me set up a standing order or will they try and take it out of his wage? I feel bad because it doesn’t have anything to do with him😔

Phone them and explain that you won't be claiming tax credits any more so can you set up a payment arrangement. I think they would let you do a standing order from your bank account. Make your move after the end of the tax year (april5th) so you don't end up paying back a tax credit overpayment too...
