Bloody hell! Realised my ex is married to someone famous!

Hi

I was looking at a post by a pretty successful
Blogger (successful as in 500k plus followers) when I got a sort of kick in the stomach feeling as I realised her husband is my ex (she's got a gushy picture of them on their wedding day)

Now , she's very welcome to him, he treated me and my family really badly, but what has shocked me the most is there's a picture of her with him and their kids who she's named and put ages alongside, which you guessed it were obviously conceived whilst we were still together! Even more hideous is that , their son is called the same name as my late dad......who my ex used to get on with really well, but just ghosted him when my dad told him he didn't have very long to live

Christ almighty ! No words!

I would not envy either of them. There are so many nutters and so much hate these bloggers face, it's shocking imo. They may be financially comfortable at the moment but that career is very temperamental and the constant changes in social media means none of it really lasts. Who is hot today will be boring tomorrow but in the meantime they are under a microscope with jealous people ready to report them to every agency/authority possible under the sun. You could do a quick Google to see how many people vehemently hate these sorts of internet famous people.

There were very famous MySpace "stars" too, but who remembers them? Don't even think about it.

A blogger will only be famous within a certain demographic.

I don't expect thst I will have heard of this person.

@Nurseornot, not to mention that many of them are deeply unhappy and it always comes out years later that they have severe depression and anxiety. A career involving constantly being on Social Media and selling your looks/diet/hot bod and being at the mercy of your "fans" that critique every part of you, is pretty horrible. What you get in money you pay for in mental health.

I only know of one blogger and that's because of Strictly, not through seeing their 'stuff'. But I'm bored so will bite - names please - you know you want to or you wouldn't have started the thread Grin

Joe sugg is a vlogger not a blogger and he has millions of followers. So it's not him I don't think, although he is genuinely famous thanks to strictly

Ah ok didn't know a blogger and a vlogger were different things - presumably one does videos and the other just pics/posts?

I wasn't suggesting it was him btw - just demonstrating my general lack of 'b/vlogger' knowledge Smile

Hollowvictory - OP says the blogger is female so obviously not Joe Sugg. His DSis Zoella doesn't have DC so not her.

But I mean, honestly - if I could give a shit? No.

I know a few people who are/were semi involved in that arena and honestly they're quite vacuous - one woman who I knew from school have been told she and DH into 'swinging' and parties with drugs/drink etc. It came as little surprise to me that they know but not that well, Ant McPartlin and his ex wife Lisa Armstrong - not saying they were 'swingers', Grin
