Anyone know any not too evil April Fool's pranks?

I was going to bake a chocolate cake and cover it with fake plastic flies.

Another idea is to add a few drops of green food coloring to the milk carton.

Anyone got any other fun pranks I can play on the kids without upsetting anyone too much?

My mother used to hide a cotton reel in a pocket in a contrasting cour to what she was wearing and thread it through so that it looked like she had a stray four or five inch piece of cotton on her clothing.

I would go to pick it off and as I pulled it, more and more came out as it got longer and longer from the reel!

Cour means colour

LaBelleSausage · 31/03/2019 16:26

We had ‘oh no! There’s a huge leek in the kitchen’ queue rushing in expecting a very large puddle, but actually seeing a giant vegetable

Empty a cupboard out and fill with balloons and ask child to get something out of cupboards and all the balloons spill out.

BlackCatSleeping · 31/03/2019 16:46

These are great. Thank you! I might try the balloon trick with the fridge.

One I’ve been meaning to do is freeze a bowl of cereal and milk with a spoon in it! Cling film over a glass is good too (pull tight and trim the edges so it’s invisible).

AdultHuman · 31/03/2019 16:52

I have placed a leek under my Mums sink, she panicked that there was water spilling from pipes.

I have given my children a brown E letter instead of chocolate treats.

This year my child has requested mandarins for a prank, I don't know what they are for.Confused

Maybe do this in the garden but make ice cubes with a mentos sweet inside and then give to (older) child in a fizzy drink or your own drink of coke and watch it swoosh when the ice melts.

PippaPepperpot · 31/03/2019 16:53

There's a massive bee in the house! (Huge cut out letter B stuck on the wall). My kids liked that one. And googly eyes on everything - pictures, fruit etc - is fun.

Palominoo · 31/03/2019 16:53

Make toffee apples using onions.

GimmeChocolateNow · 31/03/2019 17:09

Fairy cakes with a Brussels sprout or pocket of chilli powder in

namechangedbutneedadvice · 31/03/2019 17:19

Some good ideas on here! I've had good success with just swapping over the bags of breakfast cereal inside the boxes and then watching DDs confused faces Grin

Mner2019 · 31/03/2019 17:24

DH put unplugged my mouse last year from my computer

Grundtal · 31/03/2019 18:40

Kids love comedy pranks. Leek (vegetable) in bathroom, (computer) mouse in the house, B in the lounge (giant letter) Mine laughed for ages about the leek.

Stompythedinosaur · 31/03/2019 18:41

We did the "there's a giant B upstairs" one last year.

This year I'm planning to cover the dc's bedroom door in newspaper they have to burst through to get out.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 31/03/2019 19:05

Me and Ds have already planned the Nutella in pants on the breakfast table that we're going to play on Dh tomorrow morning....!!

I love this idea! Totally going to do it!

RickOShay · 31/03/2019 19:18

What’s the nutella in pants one?
I did the leek one last year, I was so pleased with myself Grin

TitsalinaBumSquash · 31/03/2019 19:23

I used Brown paper, cut into the shape of the letter 'E' put into a pan and tell the kids I've made them some Brownies!

DH is more gross and ate peanut butter out a clean happy pretending he was eating baby poo - this made DS1 vomit. Confused

thenewaveragebear1983 · 31/03/2019 19:28

Rick we are going to put some Nutella in some of Ds's pants and leave them scattered around for Dh to find.

Disclaimer: Ds is 6 therefore poo humour is about as sophisticated as it gets!!

RickOShay · 31/03/2019 19:29

oooh I like it Grin

Clankboing · 31/03/2019 19:39

I put blue colouring into my sons milk. I told him it was blue whale milk, new from Coop. He was v interested, drank it and said there was no difference.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 31/03/2019 19:41

Sticking with the poo theme, how about a cat litter tray cake? (Google it.)

mummmy2017 · 31/03/2019 19:43

Blow an egg...
Place in egg cup. With toast .
Orange jelly Instead of juice.

PenguindreamsofDraco · 31/03/2019 20:25

Just painted the shower head with green food dye this end in readiness for DH's shower in the morning.
